Muay Thai gloves are specifically designed for the Traditional Thai Martial Art which uses fists, elbows, knees and kicks. Thai Gloves are crafted to be versatile, with a shorter, flexible wrist cuff, and the positioning of the padding is different compared to traditional western boxing gloves. The padding on the back of the hand is generally thinner compared to boxing gloves, with a flatter, more open palm  allowing for greater flexibility and ease in clinch work that helps maintain a more natural hand position for clinching and holding.
